We help you make better parts, less expensively.Summary of Responsibility:As a Swiss Applications Engineer, you will use your technical skills to identify and provide dependable solutions for our diverse customer base. Managing turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer-related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. The Swiss Applications Engineer is the first line of support for our customer experience. The person filling this role is responsible for handling multiple high-level technical tasks that surround the use and implementation of CAM software, CNC Machining of complex parts, and working on multi-Axis CNC Machines. The Engineer will also work with pre-sales to assist on quotes for customer applications. Being flexible to work on multiple tasks at one time.What You Will Contribute:Strong hands-on machining background with experience as a Swiss-turn CNC machinist/programmerKnowledge of Fanuc controls; Swiss 5-axis experience a plusSolid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CAD/CAM softwareAbility to work independently and as a team playerExcellent customer service and effective communication skillsSome overnight travel throughout our regional territory is requiredManaging turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer-related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budgetConducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations, and development of turnkey proposalsMaking accurate cost estimates, time studies, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specificationsDeveloping/implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of Swiss CNC machining centers, Swiss style lathes and/or multi-tasking machinesPossessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and product lines represented by the companyProvide technical support to existing customersDocumentation for engineering systemsOther Functions:Perform related duties as requiredThe duties listed above are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed.
