Candidate must be able to work in an evolving, highly technical field, while employing critical thinking nursing skills. Candidate must possess the ability to evaluate and assess a patient's conditions and provide appropriate care based on their age specific need requirements, serving the adult to geriatric age patient populations.Responsible for the assessment and direct care of a variety of complex cardiac patients
Recognizes and responds to emergency situations and life threatening situations appropriately
Documents hemodynamic data during procedures
Operates Point of care testing equipment
Administers medications and treatments per physician direction and protocols
Able to operate a variety of diagnostic equipment including IABP, IVUS, FFR
Able to work in a stressful environment with acutely ill patients
Able to communicate effectively to others in written and verbal forms
Able to respond to Stemi call alerts within 30 minutes
Participates as a team member and is accountable for their own work
Participates in Quality Improvement Activities
Education:
Associate Degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.License/Certification:
Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Virginia. BLS and ACLS certification is required.Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in critical nursing - Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, ICU, or Emergency Room experience strongly preferred.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods with frequent bending/stooping while wearing lead aprons. Ability to lift/pull>100 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood, body fluids and infectious diseases.
