The Department of Internal Medicine is currently searching for a Division Director in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. The Director will report directly to the Department of Internal Medicine Chair. This individual will lead the division in alignment with our tripartite clinical care, research, and education missions. In addition, this individual will support robust residency and medical student training expectations and provide mentoring and administrative support to those delegated to direct this endeavor. The Division Director will be expected to lead a team of academicians from varied backgrounds. They will need to be highly skilled in communication and relationship-building to support and motivate interdisciplinary teams, convey integrity, adapt to change, and empathize with patients. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience. Essential Functions
Manage and support a broad-based clinical portfolio that includes quality-driven consultative and procedural needs of UC Physicians and the Primary Care Network as well as the evidence-based tertiary and cutting-edge quaternary consultative and procedural needs of the region. Develop a roadmap to expand clinical and basic science research in the division. Develop a plan for the optimal utilization of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). Participation in strategic development conversations. Setting clinical productivity targets for staff. Fiscal oversight of divisional finances. Setting annual academic, clinical, and research goals. Participation in the Department of Internal Medicine Chair’s Council of Champions. Faculty and staff recruitment/mentorship and conducting annual faculty reviews. Meeting with departmental and administrative leaders. Addressing concerns from staff, patients, providers, and others. Collaborate with other departments to enhance multidisciplinary approaches and initiatives. Support new initiatives and efforts that might expand beyond our local campus to surrounding areas or virtually (via telemedicine). Additional duties as assigned. Board certification in Rheumatology or Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology. Unrestricted Ohio Medical License. Required Experience
Current faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. At least 10 years of clinical experience, with demonstrated leadership and management experience at a medical facility. Additional Qualifications Considered
MBA and/or strong business acumen. Previous success in building and leading a large, interdisciplinary team. Experience with communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision making.
