We are seeking a dynamic and driven National Account Manager to join our retail sales team. This role is ideally based in Cincinnati, OH, but remote work arrangements are also possible depending on qualifications. At GFI, we offer a flexible, autonomous, and inclusive working environment. The National Account Manager will be responsible for developing and expanding national accounts within our Retail channel, driving incremental growth and profit for GFI. This role focuses on managing the Kroger account and requires collaboration with category management, marketing, revenue management, and supply chain teams.

What You'll Be Doing...Account Leadership : Manage the Kroger account by developing annual business growth, sales, and margin plans in line with company and category objectives.Strategic Negotiations : Plan, execute, and close negotiations to create mutually beneficial outcomes.Portfolio Management : Oversee the GFI portfolio in the Deli & Bakery sections, including both GFI branded and national brands. Articulate the strengths of GFI-sourced products compared to competitors.Data-Driven Decisions : Utilize internal and external business drivers to guide actions and decisions, ensuring alignment with GFI's business goals.Forecasting and Analysis : Deliver accurate and timely forecasts for volume, trade spend, and profitability. Use customer sales and syndicated data to identify opportunities, track KPI performance, and provide fact-based analysis.Trade Promotion Management : Direct and monitor all aspects of trade promotions, including post-event analysis, to ensure effective investment of trade and shopper marketing funds.Customer Agreements : Execute agreements to meet customer expectations while maximizing business value. Anticipate and mitigate challenges that may impact the implementation of customer agreements.Category Leadership : Act as a category thought leader to Kroger, utilizing shopper data and market insights to advance and close sales opportunities.Strategic Relationships : Build and maintain strategic relationships with key Kroger partners, including joint business planning and top-to-top interactions.Business Reviews : Conduct internal and external business reviews to measure sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and highlight risks. Lead sales calls and develop presentations to drive initiatives and growth plans for GFI and Kroger.Cross-Functional Connectivity : Foster cross-functional collaboration between GFI and Kroger to optimize supply chain and operations.Sales Growth : Develop strategies to drive growth and value, achieving or exceeding annual volume and profit goals.Things you need to be able to do:

Proficiency in negotiation, presentation, insight selling, product knowledge, sales management, communication (both written and verbal), sales analysis, forecasting, and sales tracking.Effective leadership skills for managing people, projects, and processes.Ability to travel up to 50%.Other stuff we like:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.5-7 years of experience in the CPG retail sales field, with a preference for experience working with Kroger.Things that are a plus:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism.Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working well under pressure.Comfortable working remotely if not based in Cincinnati, OH.
