The Research Attorney II must perform all activities in a respectful, organized, timely, and confidential manner. Responsibilities include reading and reviewing legal briefs, conducting legal research, producing quality written memoranda, drafting orders and opinions, and more.Staff in Judge Hurst’s chambers are expected to work cooperatively and respectfully with others.The successful applicant must quickly read, analyze, and comprehend complex legal issues and produce accurate written work product independently.Employment Dates:

This position is a 1- to 2-year term—approximately August 11, 2025, through August 6, 2026/2027.Required Education and Experience:

Candidates must have graduated from an ABA Accredited law school by June 2025, be eligible to practice law in Kansas, and have at least two years of legal experience.Preference may be given to candidates with a higher GPA or prior experience working for a State or Federal Judge.Application deadline:
