Android Software Developer (Hybrid)

This role will work on connected vehicle services for customers owning vehicles with connected capabilities across the USA and Canada. These systems consist of several backend, frontend, and middleware applications. The systems integrate with the connectivity units inside the vehicle, and enable features like the ability to remotely start the vehicle, view parking locations, Alexa voice commands, and many more. As a full-time member of our OnSite Business Unit team, we prioritize your individual career growth by providing optional check-in support, a yearly retro, and access to a variety of learning resources to ensure you are always growing and working towards your goals.This is a full-time salaried hybrid role located in Auburn Hills, MI. You must be able to work in the office a minimum of three days a week.Requirements

6+ years professional experience developing in native Android (must have industry experience to be considered)Experience with Android Studio and Kotlin 1.7+Experience working on a product development team in an Agile environmentStrong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practicesExperience with Jetpack architecture components (LiveData, ViewModel, Lifecycles, Navigation, ViewBinding, etc.)Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications (Google Beacon Platform / Firebase)Understanding of different versions of Android and how to deal with different screen sizes and peripheralsExperience with integration to REST web servicesFamiliarity with Gradle variants and ADBMust be able to work in a hybrid model in Auburn Hills up to 3 days per weekDetroit Labs is not currently able to hire candidates who will reside outside of the United States during their term of employmentResponsibilities
