The San Francisco, California office of Edlin Gallagher Huie + Blum is currently accepting resumes for a Controller. This position will be responsible for the finance and accounting functions of the firm. This is a full-time, hybrid, salaried role with great benefits.
Position:
The Controller will be responsible for managing the firm’s Accounting and Finance function including: monthly client invoicing process, overseeing all accounts payable and receivable for the firm, ensuring compliance with trust account and banking rules, preparing monthly financial statements, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenses, cash management, forecasting and budgeting revenue and expenses, coordinating any review or audit processes with CPA firms, and ensuring the accuracy of the firm’s financial information. The Controller will provide information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist the firm’s equity partners, management, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the firm’s future. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform accounts payable and receivable functions. Manage the Firm’s billing and accounting software. Manage the process client billing via ProLaw and various client portals. Setup and maintain payroll through outsourced payroll company. Prepare weekly cash position statements for management. Assist with or prepare budgets and forecasts. Work with outsourced financial oversight or consultants and Managing Partner to prepare and produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports. Supervisory Responsibility:
The Controller will have direct management responsibility for all employees in the accounting and finance departments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Financial management. Law firm experience preferred. Knowledge of ProLaw or other similar law firm billing systems. Cloud-based accounting and billing applications. Advanced Microsoft Office suite and Adobe skills. Education:
