Amazon Grocery is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who is passionate about data, analytics, science, and automation. Our team seeks to invent & simplify solutions that increase the speed and quality of decision-making through research, models, business process automation, business analysis, and reporting. In this role, you will have the opportunity to touch every aspect of our business from strategy to procurement to customer delivery experience.As a BIE on our team, you will focus on exciting and challenging problems, including:Apply your deep analytic and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights from large and complicated data setsEngage business stakeholders in constructive dialogues to convert business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data, statistics, and/or scriptingDesign, develop, and implement scalable, automated infrastructure for data extraction, processing, computation, and deliverySupport fellow engineers and scientists to deliver analytical projects and build proof of concept applicationsWork closely with data engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to deliver features to customersLearn new technology and techniques to meaningfully support product and process innovationHelp drive new initiatives and data integration projectsKey job responsibilities:Analyze and visualize transaction data to determine customer behaviors and output solid analysis reports with recommendationsDesign and drive experiments to form actionable recommendations. Present recommendations to business leaders and drive decisions. Also, manage the implementation of those recommendationsDevelop metrics that help support product category growth and expansion plansMinimum Requirements:3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. experienceExperience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar toolsExperience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelinesExperience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and MatlabExperience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingExperience with forecasting and statistical analysisExperience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the businessExperience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and RedshiftExperience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasetsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
