The Community Business Director (CBD) is responsible for managing andsupervising the business office functions at the community. Thisposition serves as the community?s primary resource for handling andmanaging questions/inquiries from residents and their families as wellas from our own employees related to, among other things, cash receipts,billing, vendor payments, expenses, payroll and benefits. The CBD alsocoordinates and assists with maintaining accurate employee payroll andbenefits data and is expected to be able to explain and instructemployees regarding benefit options. Maintains and oversees specificprocesses for the collection and maintenance of resident data, whichincludes resident statement accuracy, review of resident agings,confirming level of care to billing accuracy, and resident demographicinformation. Responsibly manages and supervises all front desk/clericalpersonnel including scheduling, assignment, direction, performancereview (including input on pay adjustments), hiring and disciplineconsistent with company policy. Assists the Executive Director withmanaging the community?s operation by utilizing independent judgment anddiscretion to review and advise on billing issues, expenditures andbudgetary matters for the community. Manages and directs all accountsreceivable, to include pursuit and follow-up of unpaid balances. Ensurescorrect coding of the community?s accounts payable and accrues expensesas needed. Directs collection of on-site employee data related to, amongother things, demographics, payroll, employee benefits and employeeleave administration. Ensures employee files are maintained inaccordance with Atria?s policies and procedures as well as federal,state, and local regulations. Primary community responsibility forassistance with month-end close process. This would include, among otherthings, accrual preparation and analysis of general ledger/monthlyoperating statements. Works with Executive Director to fully understandoperating results and trends. Diligently works toward the completion ofspecial projects, request, and assignments as appropriate. Serves as thecommunity?s ?manager-on-duty? on a regular basis. Assists in salesprocess by conducting inquiry tours as necessary. May drive companyvehicle from community to social and other various destinations (only ifrequired by community). May perform other duties as needed and/orassigned. QUALIFICATIONS Associate or bachelor?s degree in Accounting,Business, Finance or a related field and two (2) years of experiencewith business office functions; or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience. Three (3) to five (5) years in business officemanagement, finance or accounting preferred. Working knowledge ofgeneral accounting, billing and collections and expense managementpractices. Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Ableto clearly present information through the spoken word. Can accuratelycommunicate, providing the necessary level of detail even understressful or demanding conditions. Ensures a positive attitude and teamorientation is exhibited in verbal and non-verbal communication. Pasthistory of solid performance management skills, including the ability tocommunicate performance expectations, document performanceconversations, coach and document performance issues and completeperformance management expectations as guided by the Company. Able toperform budget analysis and variance reporting. Proficient in usingMicrosoft Office and ability to operate standard office equipment.
