The Inventory Control Manager (ICM) is responsible for art storage placement at Pace Gallery and its related locations and maintaining an effective and efficient storage strategy. The ICM focuses on ensuring that artwork is located at the proper Pace facility; and is responsible for moving and allocating inventory between locations as needed, in order to conform with agreed-upon strategy and budget. The ICM will work closely with the Warehouse, Registrar and Operations teams to provide strategic oversight and forecasts of insurance, security, maintenance, and preservation needs.What You’ll Be Doing:Ensure all Pace artwork inventory is located at the appropriate location when considering sellability, operational efficiency, insurance limits, climate control and overall cost managementMonitor current inventory/insurance variances, growth and stagnation of inventory or anticipated space constraints and report updates to Art Resources Senior Director and Head of CollectionsWork collaboratively with Sales, Shipping, Registrars, Exhibitions and Art fairs to lead a strategic storage approach when dispersing Exhibition and AF works, as well as general inventory managementActively manage storage at external non-Pace locations such as third-party shippers and warehouses to minimize storage needs and manage to budget limitsCommunicate with the Sales and Artist Liaison teams regarding newly acquired artists’ storage volumes, and expectationsDevelop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices for appropriate storage locationsWork closely with IT and Accounting teams to develop reporting and tracking methods that lead to achieving, or exceeding company financial goalsPartner with the Registrar team on the annual audit processManage billing and rebilling for all inventory locations, operate according to annual budget targets in accordance with our sold-work service policyProvide accurate quarterly and year end physical inventory report, as well as leading summer inventory initiativesWhat You’ll Bring:B.A. Degree in Facilities Management, Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations or related fieldMinimum 2+ years in a managerial positionMinimum 5+ years’ experience in a related position in the fine art, inventory, or equivalent fieldsExtensive knowledge of packing, shipping, condition reporting and cataloguing high value artworksExperience and knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory controlKnowledge of equipment safety standardsExperience managing operating and capital budgetsMust be extremely detailed oriented and organizedBe proactive to the situation at handMust possess a professional, positive work demeanor when interacting with varying levels of management, staff, vendors, and clientsAn energetic upbeat team player who exercises diplomacy and creativity in their work and within their teamsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Outlook and inventory management platformsEstimated compensation for this role is $60,000 - $90,000.In addition to an active and progressive work environment, Pace Gallery offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement plans with a company match, flexible spending accounts and commuter benefits.
