PA / Physician Assistant - Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Endocrine Surgery - Tol

ProMedica Physicians Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Endocrine Surgery is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our practice in Toledo, OH. The ideal candidate would have a positive attitude and work well in a team. 

  • Majority of APP responsibilities will be directed to hospital or inpatient and surgical assistance with a lesser extent on outpatient/clinic.
  • The schedule will consist of 3-12-hour shift (7a-7p) as well as 1 weekend per month including rounding, surgical coverage if needed, and home call.
  • APP will be available to round and see consults, service patients and will have responsibilities in the operating room first and second assisting with surgeries.
  • Job duties will focus on acute post-operative care following surgical procedure as well as ICU care, and medical care for complex issues with underlying cirrhosis or other liver and pancreas pathology.
  • APP will need to understand the natural progression of post-operative care as well as critical anomalies that wound impact health or progression.
  • APP should also be able to adequately manage surgical wound including staple/suture removal, negative pressure wound vac, or wound dressings; additionally, should be able to remove surgical drains properly. 
  • APP should also be familiar with or have a strong interest in imaging and labs needs to properly assess and determine proper inpatient care for common pathology in liver and pancreas including but not limited to pancreatic cancer, cirrhosis, liver lesion/cancer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters degree 
  • Must have at minimum 1 year of experience
  • Surgical experience required
  • Must be licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio
    • PA-C
  • Certificate of Authority to practice is required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • First hand patient care experience required
  • Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and/or Endocrine experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment toward achieving customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Post offer pre-employment required to include drug screen
