About Homework House:

Homework House Inc. is committed to providing high-quality academic enrichment opportunities to children regardless of a family’s financial standing. We focus on fostering educational growth and life success through interactive after-school programs for elementary and middle school students in underrepresented communities.Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic Executive Director to lead Homework House. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the organization's strategic management, including overseeing the annual and monthly budgeting, staffing, grant writing, fundraising, and all aspects of our after-school programming, in alignment with the policies set by the Board of Directors.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership and Operations Management:

Implement effective fiscal management practices, manage the annual budget, and oversee the organization's financial health.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Facilitate high-quality after-school programming aimed at amplifying students' academic and personal success.

Grant Writing and Fundraising:

Lead efforts in identifying, applying for, and managing grant proposals and maintaining relationships with private foundations.Develop and execute annual fundraising strategies, including major events and campaigns.

Community and Board Engagement:

Prepare accurate program and fiscal reports for the Board of Directors and participate in board committee meetings.Represent the organization publicly and manage relationships with donors, community organizations, and the media.

Staff and Volunteer Management:

Recruit and oversee organizational staffing, providing direct supervision to key management roles.Foster a respectful, collaborative work environment and manage volunteer recruitment and engagement.

Qualifications:Proven leadership in a nonprofit organization, preferably within the human service sector.Excellent ability in fiscal management, including budget oversight and financial reporting.Experience in educational programming and leading teams to achieve educational standards.Strong fundraising and grant writing skills, with a track record of cultivating donor relationships.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Commitment to the mission of supporting educational opportunities for students in low-income communities.Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred.Minimum five years of progressive management experience in a related field.EEC licensing experience is a plus, not required.Skills Required:Strong leadership and organizational management abilities.Deep appreciation and commitment to Homework House's mission and goals.Advanced competency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and donor management software.Ability to manage multiple priorities and diverse organizational demands.How to Apply:
