The role of
Director, Global Privacy Counsel
is to lead Lenovo’s worldwide privacy program, and to provide advice and counsel to Lenovo’s management and staff on privacy-related issues involving Lenovo’s consumers and customers, its products and software. This role manages the global Privacy Team and will shape Lenovo’s global privacy practices and strategy across its PC, Mobile, Server and Services business units.Responsibilities:General Counseling:
Provide advice and counsel to Lenovo businesses on privacy, security, and related data protection issues.Advise on the privacy and security implications of Lenovo product designs, software, interactive experiences, and information handling activities.
Contract Support:
Review and draft contract provisions to ensure strong privacy and security measures.Negotiate data protection provisions in commercial contracts.
Compliance:
Develop, enforce, and apply privacy and data protection policies.Lead efforts to meet legal and regulatory obligations.Conduct training programs on privacy and data protection.Manage privacy disputes, incidents, and investigations.
Basic Requirements:JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic credentials.15+ years of experience in privacy policy creation and implementation.10+ years of experience in managing privacy compliance for multinational companies.In-depth knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations.Understanding of technology products, software, hardware workings, and related data protection considerations.Familiarity with regulatory consent orders and compliance efforts.Preferred Requirements:Ability to enhance privacy compliance programs.Effective communication of legal and technical concepts to non-legal professionals.Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.Sound legal judgment and ability to balance business needs with legal requirements.Ability to lead teams and establish proactive client relationships globally.
