The role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our team in building a state-of-the-art insurance platform. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining robust back-end systems. As a Senior Back-End Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of our platform.Key responsibilitiesLead the development and testing of our systems and servicesParticipate in shaping the technical architecture of the productHelp translate product requirements into user stories and technical solutionsDeliver highly available and scalable services in a production environmentMentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the teamGenerate ideas for new initiatives and technologiesCommunicate with project leads, product managers and other software developersRequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field5+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack.Our core stack is Java/ Kotlin/ Spring / AWS/ PostgreSQL, and we run on Kubernetes in a service oriented architecture.3+ years Java, Kotlin or other OO programming experienceA solid understanding of relational databases and ORMsExperience working on microservice-based applications.Experience working with GIT and CI/CD systems.Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others and get stuff doneSolid sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completionExperience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requestsView Unit and Integration test as 1st class citizen in software developmentNice To HaveExperience scaling highly available, mission critical systemsInsurance Industry Experience: Familiarity with the insurance industry and its specific regulatory requirements.
