Movement Disorders Section ChiefPosition Overview:The Department of Neurology, University of California at Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting a physician leader to serve as Section Chief of our growing division of Movement Disorders. The position is offered in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or Clinical Neurology series at the Associate or Full Professor rank, commensurate with experience.The incumbent will serve as Section Chief of Movement Disorders, providing leadership, support, and strategic planning of the Section, including direction of its clinical, educational, and research efforts. The position requires strong leadership and management skills related to operational effectiveness, strategic planning, and clinical operations. The incumbent will provide guidance and mentorship to promote the success of faculty at all levels, recruit and retain faculty, develop strategies to enhance communication and collaboration in partnership with the department Chair, and create a safe, equitable and inclusive workplace.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will join an established team including a multi-disciplinary Huntington Disease (HDSA) Center of Excellence at UC Davis, Deep Brain Stimulation Program, and movement disorders fellowship program. The clinic provides a dedicated Movement Disorders team including neuropsychologists, nurse practitioner, psychiatrist, genetic counselor, physical therapist, social workers, with additional support of a program medical assistant and clinical pharmacists. The program is actively involved in industry- and NIH-sponsored clinical trials research as well as investigator-initiated translational research with basic neuroscience faculty.The UC Davis Department of Neurology and UC Davis Health teaching hospital are nationally ranked in US News & World Report. The department continues to expand with 60 clinical faculty across all neurological specialties, total faculty of 80, and excellent nursing, staff, neuropsychology, social work, clinical research, and pharmacological support.For the full position description and to apply, please visit:
