TasksMon Ami Realty is seeking a talented in-house attorney to continue its growth. The position requires an organized, responsive, detail-oriented candidate with strong real estate skills and deep knowledge of transactional work.
What you’ll do:
Draft, review and negotiate agreements for the acquisition and disposition of real estate and related documents including LOIs and transaction documents
Draft, review and negotiate retail, office and industrial leases and related documents
Handle all aspects of title work (ordering and reviewing/objecting to commitments, clearing title exceptions, summarizing documents of record, e.g. easements) and the receipt of and tracking of all issued title policies
Maintain a deep functional knowledge and real estate expertise to support business objectives and manage risk
Develop and refine templates, policies and procedures to standardize and improve contract drafting and review process
Review, analyze and provide guidance on lease terms and tenant issues to support the property management team
Requirements
J.D. and licensure to practice in the State of Illinois (Required)
Real Estate law: extensive experience handling Commercial transactions (Required)
Strong understanding of industry standards in real estate transactions to quickly focus in on the aspects of a lease of transaction that matters most to the business
Excellent business judgement, flexibility, with an ability to proactively determine, prioritize and resolve issues
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, team oriented environment
Ability to manage, organize and complete multiple tasks with competing priorities
