POSITION PURPOSE

The Regional Sales Manager will function as the main interface with customers in the Northcentral territory while marketing and selling SSAB steel products in support of company goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Planning and Forecasting

Develop territory sales forecasts and plans for long-term growthConduct pricing analyses and cost-benefit comparisons with regard to market competitorsIdentify opportunities for development of new customersDevelop sales and growth plans for existing accountsSales

Manage accounts through SSAB's automated sales systemConduct sales calls and obtain product ordersBuild and maintain meaningful customer relationshipsDevelop and maintain a clear understanding of customer needsIdentify and present products to address customer needsInvestigate and resolve claims issuesUtilize full scope of company resources to facilitate sales and presentationsCommunication

Employ a team-focused approach with internal customers and support staffCommunicate with inside sales personnel in support of departmental goals and customer needsAnticipate customer needs and resolve customer issuesObtain customer feedback and distribute to appropriate customer personnelConduct seminars and presentations as requiredCreate and submit required reports in a timely mannerQUALIFICATIONS

Competencies and Experience

Required:

Five (5) years of outside sales experience in a related product fieldAdvanced and highly effective written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointExcellent organizational, administrative and time-management skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProven market development, sales, negotiation and closing abilitySelf-motivated and self-directedStrong personal integrity and interpersonal skillsRegular and reliable attendancePreferred:

Knowledge of SSAB products, services, processes and capabilitiesBroad industry specific product knowledgeEducation

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position operates in an office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This role is partially sedentary. Some filing and handling of office materials is required. This would require the ability to sit, stand and/or walk, bend, kneel, or stand, use of hands to finger, hold and handle, reach with hands and arms and to push / pull, lift or carry items up to 30 lbs.This position operates in the field. The role requires the ability to travel frequently via automobile and via airplane.The position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities:
