Summary:

Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up tires. May load and unload vehicle; as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.Properly document goods delivered or loaded.Load and unload trucksVerify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The truck may or may not be air conditioned/heated seasonally. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific visions abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalency, a minimum of one-year commercial driver experience required.
