This full-time position is focused on teaching various graduate-level Human Services courses across the Master of Science in Clinical Behavioral Health, Emphasis on Addictions Counseling program.Established in 1968, the

The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning with coursework taught across the classroom, online, and through clinical experiences. Department faculty are committed to supporting students to develop high ethical standards and cultural competence while becoming agents for positive change in their communities. Aside from the Master of Science in Clinical Behavioral Health, Emphasis on Addictions Counseling, the department offers two undergraduate majors, Human Services and Fire and Emergency Response Administration, and four concentrations: Addiction Studies, Trauma Studies, High-Risk Youth, and MentalHealth Counseling.MSU Denver enrolls over

The faculty member will carry a full-time teaching load of 15 hours per semester of graduate-level courses, including teaching evenings, weekends, and hybrid courses with reassigned time and

additional pay for summer teaching available .

This position requires the ability to teach classes in the Master of Science in Clinical Behavioral Health, Emphasis on Addictions Counseling program. Other duties include advising students in academic planning, curriculum development, program credentialing/evaluation, and clinical supervision.

Professional research and service to the department are encouraged.The successful candidate will have experience working with students from diverse populations, including but not limited to students of color, students with disabilities, students with diverse gender, affectional and sexual identities, students of various ages, and students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.Required QualificationsDoctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision (Ph.D./Ed.D.), Doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling/Counseling Education (Ph.D./Ed.D.), or other related field. Applicants may also qualify as ABD if their degree will be conferred no later than May 2024Must have mental health licensure or be eligible for a licensure through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)Preferred QualificationsALicensed AddictionCounselor in the State of Colorado (LAC) is highly preferredEarned doctoral degree from a CACREP-accredited programBehavioral Health Administration (BHA)-approved trainer for CAS/CAT/LAC classesLicensed Professional Counselor (LPC)Evidence of successful teaching in a higher education settingThree or more years of mental health and addiction counseling experienceSalary for AnnouncementThe salary range for this position is $54,000 - $59,000 at Lecturer level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
