At Short Story, you will be a part of a high-velocity engineering team that creates new user experiences, optimizes warehouse and logistics operations, and improves data insights to better serve our customers. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who enjoy tackling ambiguity and can solve complex problems end-to-end.The role:
As an early Senior Frontend Engineer, you will build internal and customer-facing applications for order handling and styling. You will establish key design patterns/guidelines for all frontend applications.Must Haves:5+ years experience in professional front-end development (eg. HTML, CSS, JS)4+ years of experience working with Javascript/Typescript and ReactUnderstanding of web technologies, programming concepts, and web architecturePrevious experience working closely with designers, building flexible, composable libraries and componentsFamiliar with front-end testing automation (eg. Cypress/Jest)Thorough understanding of ReactJS and its core principlesExperience with frontend development tools (eg. WebPack, Babel, Yarn)Familiar with ReactJS workflows (eg. redux)Focus on communication and documentationNice to Haves:Worked in a fully remote environment with colleagues from around the worldManaged an engineering team of 3+ people; ideally have established a frontend engineering team beforeWorked in sprint-based environments with an OKR frameworkUnderstanding of UI/UX best practices and design principlesBenefits and compensation:Compensation range: $140K-190K USD + company equity4 weeks of vacation (20 days)Medical and dental benefitsFully remote work; SF and Toronto offices available
