About the Team
VIZIO’s Technology – Software and Services team is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to
join their growing team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work together
within the team and contribute to innovate VIZIO products. The Sr. Staff Software Engineer is
going to report to the supervisor directly, who is leading a team, and will be assigned tasks
requiring a certain level of insight in terms of specific technology point of view.
What You Will Do
Design and implement software related to TV and related cloud services.The Sr. Staff Engineer will manage a team and communicate designs and decisions
within the team and will encourage new ideas and solutions.Be involved with every stage of the application software development processCode and build high quality mobile applicationsDrive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many cross functional
teams, architects, product owners and engineerMake critical decisions that contribute to the success of the productDesign APIs/SDKs used by other teams, both internal and external to the company.Participate in cross-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other
engineering teamsBe a multiplier and have a passion for team and team members’ successMaintain high morale and motivate the delivery team to go above and beyondVocally advocate for technical excellence and helping the teams make good decisionsLead, coach, and mentor the software engineering team, through product discovery that
helps identify and break our product goals into technical projects.Help continuously improve team productivity, code quality, tool, and technology
adoption. Optimization and fine-tuning of the software application.Working in Agile mode, which includes attending the daily status meeting with the entire
team.Responsible for resolving the complexity of business rule to the form which can be
understood by Dev teamResearch and implement new design patterns & standards to improve the existing
workflow for the development of the team.Collaborate within and across teams including QA, release management, operations and
3rd party partners to deliver a project on time.Research and implement a functional requirement using up to date technology and
skills.Review the software design and implementations.Maintain the code clean, extensible and modular for cross-platform architecture.Support participation in various trade and industry events, including conferences and
sponsored activities.
About You
B.S. in relevant technical degree7+ years of experience in full stack development using Python, NodeJS, JavaScript,
React, TypeScript and SQLYou know when to use an existing solution and when to build something new.Strong software development and design experience with Django, Django REST
framework and Flask.At least 3 years’ experience with the AWS ecosystem, including tools, services, and
resources that enable scalable, available, and distributed processing.Experience in designing and building scalable Microservices.Experience with messaging frameworks SQS, SNSExperience with serverless stack Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate, ECS and EKSExperience with writing complex SQL queries and analysis of data correlations.Experience working with No-SQL databases like Dynamo, Cassandra, Mongo; graph
DBs like Neo4j; and in-memory DB like Redis, Elasticache is a plusProficiency with software best practices (e.g., CI/CD using Git/AWS Code Commit,
writing units tests, maintaining clear documentation, UML diagramming with tools like
Lucid etc.)You are proactive in foreseeing issues and resolve them before they happen.Experience working with analytics and telemetry tools like GA4, Sumologic, New Relic
etc. to draw insights.It should be a given that the role really needs excellent written and verbal
communication skills.Must be a team player participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborating with the team
on sharing technical knowledge and capabilities, perform peer code reviews and provide
technical guidance to junior team members.
