BI Architect

The Business Intelligence (BI) Architect is a key member of the Enterprise Data & Analytics team, responsible for the technical design and architecture of our front-end business intelligence and analytics tools. Our team focuses on Data Experience – the right tools and training for business partners to effectively gain insights from data. This position will drive that goal as the subject matter expert and thought leader in what capabilities front-end business intelligence and analytics solutions can bring to Patterson. This role will deliver various solutions to meet our customers’ needs in gaining insights from our enterprise data, as well as designing technical architecture and process to ensure a stable solution that our customers can rely upon.Responsibilities:Create and maintain business intelligence and analytics tools roadmap, balancing industry trends, capability needs, and technical debt.Improve and maintain overall system health of our front-end business intelligence and analytics solutions, through design and implementation of best practices in architecture, development process and system monitoring.Thought leadership in the capabilities of business intelligence and analytics solutions, including regular research and summary of Data & Analytics market trends.Govern code / report / object promotion process to minimize negative impact to front-end business intelligence or analytics tool environments or users.Drive innovation by supporting proof of concept initiatives for new business intelligence or analytics capabilities, including hands-on implementation of new technologies or development activitiesDrive engagement with Data & Analytics and knowledge share across Patterson, by participating or leading activities like User Groups or Hack-a-ThonsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or related field7+ years of experience with a variety of front-end business intelligence and/or analytics solutions, with a preference towards SAP BusinessObjects, MicroStrategy and PowerBI.2 or more years of technical architecture experience.Effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong customer focusAbility to lead and influenceThought leadership on business intelligence and analytics capabilities and use casesPreferred Qualifications:Technical architecture experience with Front-End BI & Analytics tools, including multi-tool approachesExperience with multi-location user base, including French language and/or data privacy regulationsExperience with SAP toolset (BW, HANA, SAC, BPC)Experience with Cloud data solutions (Snowflake)Experience with Data Prep solutions (Alteryx, Tableau)Experience with Advanced Analytics tools and techniques (i.e. Machine Learning, Data Robot)
