DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Audit Senior Manager is expected to correctly perform routine engagement procedures in a timely and professional manner, demonstrate the ability to recognize sensible solutions, with appropriate balance between clients’ needs and the firm’s risk. Individual must be able to meet assigned deadlines or budgets and provide advanced warning of variances. An Audit Senior Manager demonstrates the ability to work well with others especially in the capacity to command the confidence and respect of clients, principals, staff, and administrative support personnel. This individual trains and encourages staff members not only on a day-to-day basis, but also for the long-term by serving as a mentor, this requires balancing assigned workload between self and staff. An Audit Senior Manager must be able to provide forward-looking services that are creative and innovative.This position will work primarily within the Construction & Real Estate Industry Line.

Construction and/or Real Estate experience is preferred.

The position may be located in Wichita KS, Little Rock AR, or Jonesboro AR.FLSA Status:

ExemptRequirementsRequired Experience and EducationEither “FASB” or “Commercial” and/or “Not-for-Profit” experience or Governmental auditing is desired, as is experience in Yellow Book and Single Audits. A current and valid CPA license is required. Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs and respective state societies. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience, preferably with approximately 4 of those years as an auditor with a public accounting firm. Needs excellent project management skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills, dedication to teamwork and leadership and integrity within a professional environment.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop/maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers throughout the year to communicate value and inform them of the firm’s scope of servicesProvide guidance/expertise and participation in the performance of audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issuesDemonstrate excellence in executive presence, people development, leadership and professionalismCollaborate to plan objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses riskEstablish the expectations of the value to be deliveredSuccessfully monitor the audit engagement team against the budget, and alter if necessaryIdentify/communicate relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the audit clientDemonstrate a deep understanding of the audit client’s industry and marketplaceDevelop people by effectively delegating to all levels of the audit team staff and by encouraging audit team members to make determinations and take responsibility for their contribution to the audit teamConduct audit team performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to audit team performance feedback/trainingFoster teamwork and lead by exampleUse technology to continually learn, share knowledge with audit team members, and enhance service deliveryMaintain an educational program to continually develop skillsMaintain cooperative relationships with other audit engagement teamsMonitor the audit engagement team’s progress against the plan and alter it when neededGenerate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutionsAchieve growth by understanding Adams, Brown, Beran and Ball, Chtd. and its services lines and actively assessing/presenting way to apply knowledge and servicesDevelop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externallyDesired Skills, Abilities and CharacteristicsLeads by example exhibiting integrity, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitmentProfessional and mature attitudeAbility to maintain confidentiality of firm and client informationEffectively communicate through oral and written meansClient service orientedDemonstrates excellence in executive presence, people development, leadership and professionalismEffectively manage people with poise and professionalismPromotes the vision, missions, and core values of the firm and supports the one-firm conceptDemonstrates the ability to properly delegate and manage workload and train others on the proper delegation and management of workAptitude to learn and effectively use multiple software applicationsAbility to apply principles of accounting to analyze and prepare financial informationExcellent organizational skillsAbility to demonstrate confidence and good judgment when interacting with colleagues, supervisors and clientsStrong presentation skillsAbility to work well with othersWorking EnvironmentAdams Brown, LLC promotes a flexible work environment with a deep commitment to technology and modern work arrangements.
