will support the execution of advanced technology development for integration into JBPCO Business Unit truck bodies on electric vehicle chassis. Duties will include requirements definition, documentation, and validation using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology to develop Product Solutions Functional Architectures; benchmarking competitor vehicles and platforms for optimized solutions; ensuring the product systems and components meet customers’ expectations and regulatory requirements; and providing Technical Project Coordination for other project engineers' and suppliers' requirements, architecture, and design. The Systems Engineer will provide build support and debugging.This is a role for an Engineer with 2+ years of Automotive industry experience - commercial vehicle applications are of particular interest. Experience with Networking, Connectivity, and/or Automation is highly desired.Technical Integration Responsibilities:Technology Integration of Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Thermal Sub-systems into Product SolutionsRequirements definition and documentationValidation of requirements using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologyTechnical Project Coordination for other project engineers' and suppliers' requirements, architecture, and designDevelop product documentation including specifications, architecture documents, schematics, BOM, control drawings, feasibility assessment, analysis and test reports within the procedures and requirements of a formal product development process.Support system and subsystem level simulation (e.g. HIL) and testingDevelop, maintain, and enhance DFMEA, DVP, and other gate deliverables throughout the gate review process.Act as the liaison to JBPCO Business Units for development, integration, productionization and validation planningBuild support and debugging.Testing Responsibilities:Collaborate with Controls, Software and other Design engineers, create test cases and derive test procedures/sequences based on requirements and feature listings.Support automation testing in future and develop scripts (MATLAB, Python etc.) to perform automated testing cycles.Support any qualification of test setups necessary to validate results.Jointly own approval of test software, test procedures and test cases with product and controls/design engineers.Develop and plan test runs according to the integration release plan.Support test runs at various levels of integration, and document test results.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in either Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering2+ years of Automotive industry experience, or relevant experience from another industryDemonstrated experience with requirements and task management activities.Practical experience with Requirement Management tools (e.g. Polarion, Jama, etc)Practical experience in Task management (e.g. Jira, etc)Experience in developing and maintaining MIL, HIL, system verification test cases and test infrastructure.Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, State flow, Vector tools etc. other popular automotive engineering toolsStrong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience making presentations and technical reports.Demonstrated initiative and strong listening skills.Proficient in MS OfficeDesired Qualifications:Automotive industry experience with Commercial Vehicle ApplicationsNetworking, Connectivity, and/or Automation experiencePractical experience with Controller Area Networks (CAN bus) and tools (Vector CANalyzer, etc)
