Openings : 1Post Date : Dec. 19, 2023POSITION SUMMERY:Under the general direction of the Director or designee, the Project Manager III bleads organization-wide large projects. The Project Manager III is responsible for initiating action on multiple projects in a matrix environment. Tasks vary according to the priorities of the organization.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Lead, manage and develop organization-wide large projects from the idea generation and feasibility stage through completionCommunicate project status, budget, costs, issues, and related information to the projects team leaders, sponsors, steering committee, affected business unit(s), and team membersIdentify and recommend specific resource requirementsSupport the department in audit reviews of completed projects, review whether project met expectations, identify potential areas for improvement, and document the results and recommendationsAssist the projects sponsor in refining the project scope and objectives, including any constraintsEnsure that common solutions are found and implemented for common problems across all projectsCommunicate objectives, scope, and required and expected deliverables of each project phaseAssess and evaluate project risks, mitigate and implement strategies to alleviate themManage project staffAssist the Director in the development of contractsProvide support to the department in the development of strategic planningParticipate in the development and implementation of performance improvement initiativesAdhere to University, State and funding agency policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:5-7 years of demonstrated experience in project managementStrong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with staff, clients, and vendor staffAbility to lead and manage matrix project teamsStrong Microsoft Office SkillsAbility to travel to off-site locations.UMass Chan Medical School was among 23 companies that stood out as 2023 “DEI champions,” according to The Boston Globe.Named a U.S. News & World Report“2023 BEST MEDICAL GRAD SCHOOL”for Primary Care and Research
