Plant Controller – Memphis, TN

Our client is a large packaging company with over a Billion dollars in annual sales and diversified operations in over 34 countries.

While reporting to the Area Controller, you will be responsible for performing all Controllership related activities. This includes but is not limited to maintaining, managing, and analyzing financial statements; ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulations.

What you’ll be doing:

Supervise accountants in preparing analyses and reports on production performance, payroll, inventory, month-end closing, etc.

Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.

Execute processes including, but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger (e.g., review and approve manual journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements), fixed assets, and necessary support for treasury and tax/trade compliance including variance analysis.

Prepare, consolidate, and reconcile financial reports for month end closing. Direct, analyze, and verify month end closing entries as well as profit and loss statements.

Create or modify programs and reports to improve efficiency of various administrative tasks. Implement new procedures as required by corporate or division staff.

Create or modify various reports and databases as needed for management of the business. Provide detailed financial data to plant and division personnel as requested.

Analyze and report plant operational performance. Utilize data to monitor and report performance by machine, by department, or by shift. Provide suggestions on methods to reduce negative variances.

Coordinate and oversee plant physical inventory.

Build and maintain productive employee relationships, driving employee satisfaction. Provide direction, training, and development as needed. Provide coaching, counseling, or discipline as needed. Work with HR to address employee concerns and issues.

Responsible for maintaining internal controls over all areas of the business.

Position requirements:

Minimum of a four year degree

Experience as a Plant Controller/Administrative Manager
