Job details
Perform, and/or review, technical security assessments of enclaves within network to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established IA standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies.
Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establish system security designs.
Design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and related security systems, components, and controls for enclaves.
Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments.
Assist network architects and systems engineers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of DOD security policy for network systems and enclaves.
Support the design and implementation of security architectures.
Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures.
Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the life cycle of systems and enclaves.
Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for systems and networking operations.
Review A&A documentation and provide feedback on completeness and compliance of content.
Apply systems security engineering expertise in support of network operations, including: system security design process; security engineering life cycle; system integration; risk management; intrusion detection; contingency planning; incident handling; configuration control; change management; auditing; certification and accreditation process; principles of IA (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, and access control); and security testing.
Support security authorization activities in compliance with the DoD RMF, NIST RMF process, and related business processes for security engineering.
Maintain a professional attitude and commitment to providing high-quality service in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
10 years of experience as an ISSE or equivalent job title/responsibilities on large multi-site and campus-wide Windows Server-based hybrid cloud network environments.
Experience serving as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation and/or integration of: (1) secure networking, computing, and enclave environments, and (2) IA architectures, systems, or system components.
Demonstrated knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to support the design, development, and implementation of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
Ability to support enforcement of design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
Ability to support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
Ability to identify and manage overall security requirements for the proper handling of Government data.
Demonstrated experience performing system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves including heterogeneous hybrid-cloud wide area network environments.
Proficiency in technical writing.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
