Corporate Tax Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Columbus, OH, is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Attorney with expertise in corporate and partnership taxation, business structuring, formation, and mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant tax experience, with a preference for those holding an LL.M. in Taxation. Experience in civil tax controversy-related matters is considered advantageous. Duties: Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on corporate and partnership taxation matters. Assist clients in structuring and forming businesses, including advising on the choice of entity. Conduct due diligence and draft legal documents for mergers and acquisitions transactions. Represent clients in civil tax controversy-related proceedings, if necessary. Stay updated on relevant tax laws, regulations, and judicial decisions. Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Admission to the State Bar in Ohio or eligibility for admission via reciprocity. 5+ years of experience in corporate and partnership taxation. Demonstrated expertise in business structuring, formation, and mergers and acquisitions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. LL.M. in Taxation preferred. Certifications: Admission to the State Bar in Ohio or eligibility for admission via reciprocity. Skills: Proficiency in corporate and partnership taxation. Ability to provide sound legal advice and strategic guidance. Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Knowledge of relevant tax laws, regulations, and judicial decisions. Excellent research and analytical abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
