Environmental Attorney

A law firm in Spokane is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney with at least 5 years of experience to advise on a wide range of environmental matters. The candidate will interface with colleagues and clients, providing counsel on regulatory compliance, permitting, risk mitigation, and transactional matters.Duties:Advise on environmental matters associated with mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing.Handle permitting issues related to stormwater, air, and water emissions.Provide counsel on risk mitigation strategies and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Address emerging contaminants and renewable energy projects.Assist with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.Interface directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice groups.Draft legal documents, including contracts, permits, and compliance plans.Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental laws and regulations.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.Strong understanding of federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.Experience with transactional matters and pollution legal liability insurance preferred.Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.Strong writing and communication skills.Portable business preferred.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.Skills:Comprehensive knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.Experience advising clients on transactional matters and risk management.Strong writing and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Demonstrated ability to handle complex environmental issues.
