- most of us are in office ~3 days a weekWhat we're looking for:We're looking for an experienced frontend focused engineer to join our team of 5.We're looking for candidates from diverse backgrounds who are interested in:Developing the core foundation of a realtime collaborative web app using CRDTs and WebSocketsBuilding complex AI workflows into the productMoving fast and shipping to production dailyThinking about frontend performance as a top priorityBuilding sophisticated and performant drag and drop interfacesDebugging thorny and complex bugs without much to go onReading and suggesting improvements to open source projects that are at the core of the Gamma web applicationBuilding out integrations and embedded appsRequirements:Must Have:5+ years experience
as a frontend software engineerA strong understanding of:How mutation observers and event propagation workExperience with the state management in React, preferably with ReduxStrong grasp of computer science fundamentals (e.g. you're capable of writing vanilla JS instead of using lodash or jQuery)Experience working in large complex production scale frontend codebasesExperience working with mature APIs (REST or GraphQL)Nice to Have:Experience with ProseMirror or other document editor frameworksExperience with large language models and AI promptingExperience programming with TypescriptExperience with Prisma and Apollo GraphQLContributions to open source projects (big or small)Experience with websockets and realtime data synchronizationExperience with Node, NestJS, or ExpressExperience with NextJSOur Stack:While this role is frontend focused, you'll inevitably be working across the entire product.
