About The Team

The Instruments and Accessories (I&A) Team is dedicated to identifying, defining, and exploring the forefront of endoluminal surgical innovation. This team generates solutions for new clinical opportunities, integrates advanced technologies, and develops proof-of-concept models that demonstrate clinical and business viability.

The Role: Principal Endoscope Architect

The Principal Endoscope Architect will lead the design and optimization of robotic endoscopes, considering system and subsystem interactions and constraints. This role involves collaboration with stakeholders from various departments such as Functional Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Product Management to gather feedback, understand requirements, and ensure alignment with business goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the technical direction and development strategy for robotic endoscopes, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry standards.Define project requirements, specifications, and timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, researchers, medical professionals, and regulatory specialists.Apply engineering principles to drive the design, prototyping, and testing phases of the robotic bronchoscope.Oversee integration with robotic systems, sensors, imaging technologies, and control algorithms to enable precise navigation and manipulation during interventional and surgical procedures.Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering challenges and ensure the successful execution of project milestones.Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with applicable medical device regulations and standards throughout the development lifecycle.Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and professional development within the team.Communicate project progress, technical updates, and key insights to stakeholders, including senior management, investors, clinicians, and external partners.Participate in conferences, industry events, and professional forums to promote thought leadership and expand the company's network.About YouAt least 12 years of experience leading complex engineering projects, with expertise in single-use accessories, steerable catheter or endoscope design and manufacturing, and hands-on experience in developing robotic platforms preferred.Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize system performance.Effective leadership and communication skills, capable of explaining complex problems and solutions to multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams.Proven ability to manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.Experience transferring new products and processes to manufacturing.Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, with experience using SolidWorks CAD and PDM tools.Strong understanding of regulatory standards such as IEC 60601-1 and the FDA 510(k) submission process, including risk management, analysis, and mitigation.Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.Demonstrated experience in translating insights into intellectual property.BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; MS or PhD preferred.Workplace Type:
