Traveler will automatically be declined.•Only submit traveler who can work schedule in posting and interested in the unit.Targeted for traveler moving to new shift We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Pediatric, PICU,NICU) traveler.The Respiratory Therapist provides treatment and diagnostic respiratory services with patients and families in all clinical areas of UW Health, American Family Children's Hospital and UW East Madison Hospital including intensive care units, emergency department, general care, perioperative, procedure areas, and others as required. This position requires clinical assessment skills and the ability to make appropriate clinical decisions and modify care according to clinical protocols. This position requires superb communication skills and the ability to work with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care. The Respiratory Therapist acts as resource to physicians and health care professionals ensuring orders are concurrent with policies and procedures. This position may function as a "Charge Therapist" with responsibility for ensuring adequate number of respiratory care staff to cover the patient care areas.Minimum Requirements:•Facility Requirement:o Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile including resume, *** portal, onboarding documents). •Experience:o Minimum two years experience as a staff therapisto Pediatric, PICU, NICU experience requiredo Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospitalo Prior traveler experience highly preferred•Licensure and Certification:o Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Wisconsin requiredo CRT and RRT credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care requiredo NRP certification requiredo BLS and PALS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY required•Education:o Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Care. •Referenceso Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years).•Floatingo Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.Location: American Family Children's Hospital 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792 Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation.Position Urgency:Quick StartShifts:36 hrs/week, Day/Evening, 8 and 12 hour shifts.
