Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking an ISP Technician to install, remove, and relocate common telephone systems equipment for Robins AFB. This is a full-time position.Responsibilities:Splice, terminate, and test copper cable to meet job requirements.Perform cabling and NIPR/SIPR drops.Install, remove, relocate, and troubleshoot (if necessary) various common telecommunication equipment.
Qualifications:3+ years experience in telecommunications infrastructure and installation. Must be BICSI Installer II Copper (INST-C) certified or able to obtain within six months of hire. Experience with installation, removal, troubleshooting, and repair of telecommunications systems. Must be able to install, terminate, and test cables. Must be familiar with a variety of terminal connectors and EIA/TIA standards. Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings including infrastructure design and splicing diagrams. Able to splice various sizes of copper cables. Familiar with cable testing procedures. Knowledge of safety precautions related to cable splicing. May be required to crawl under/behind customer work environments to gain access to client systems. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted. May be required to perform physical acts such climbing to obtain access to systems. Must be comfortable working in an office environment. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
