Position Description

A postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience /machine learning is available in Dr. David Klindt’s research group at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY.

We are looking for outstanding candidates for computational postdoctoral positions broadly interested in using machine learning, computational neuroscience and computational biology. The position is open under specific projects as well as general research involving the applications of methods from machine learning, computer vision and computational neuroscience with the goal to understand the complex system such as neural networks, brain functions, or molecular shapes. Position Requirements

PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Neuroscience, or related quantitative discipline, strong programming skills, publications in machine learning conferences or neuroscience journals, and experience or interest in neuroscience and collaborating with experimentalists.

Candidates from the biological sciences should have experience with scientific programming including the usage of Python and deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, JAX, or Tensorflow. Candidates from the physical/mathematical sciences should have prior exposure to research in the biological sciences including research in computational neuroscience or computational structural biology (e.g. familiarity with CryoEM models).

The salary for this role is $76,440 per annum. The salary range or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
