Master Data Specialist

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Service, the primary focus of the Master Data Specialist is to globally support operations and ensure data integrity within the organization, while adhering to master data management guidelines.This individual will create and maintain master records in SAP and provide communication on recommendations to ensure proper procedure and processes are followed.

The Master Data Specialist will communicate cross-functionally with teams, including various stakeholders in Global Supply Chain, Marketing, Logistics, Finance, Analytics, and Customer Service, to support data quality within the business.A strict adherence to policy and processes is required in order to support and protect ATG business interests.

The Master Data Specialist must be flexible and organized in managing many requests based on the timing and critical nature of business needs. This individual is trusted with handling influential data and must have strong communication skills to successfully translate the current & future state of records. Lastly, the Master Data Specialist must have strong attention to detail for accurate data keeping & integrity.

The Build (Responsibilities)

•Act as gate keeper for all master data activities within core-focus areas; ensuring data integrity

•Enter, audit, edit, and research master data components required for managing accuracy and integrity of SAP data to support business needs.

•Provide communication on new or existing record activity.

•Establish, improve, and develop Master Data Management governance best practices and processes.

•Respond quickly/effectively to global business issues; taking responsibility for driving issues to resolution quickly.

•Assist with troubleshooting activities related to SAP data.

•Support other Master Data roles, when required

Additional Responsibilities - Material/Item Master

•Manage the workflow ECR requests; approve/rework/reject, troubleshoot, and train others as required.

•Exclusion table:maintain requested items not authorized for customer-specific sales activity (due to inventory constraints, etc.)

•Ensure Country of Origin accuracy; work with customs to determine if update is due to change in a supplier or a correction to the data.Update tariff codes, create new items, and communicate with product managers/pricing teams accordingly.

•Maintain material-specific updates; dimensions, alternate languages, units of measure, hierarchies, UPCs, block codes, compliance (NAFTA) codes

•Maintain the accuracy of the material determination table for replacement material items.

Additional Responsibilities - Customer Master

•New Distributor/Branch location Creation - Ensure all necessary supporting documentation/approvals are accurate and available prior to customer master creation.

oReview all new submissions for contract requirements.

oValidate required field data to ensure accuracy (previous existing, hierarchy, sales district/office/group, etc.)

oWork with Finance to obtain credit approvals

oWork with Legal to validate any contract discrepancies

•Ensure specific customer master activity is supported by approved documentation and "attached" to the SAP customer master per audit requirements.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

•Required:

oHigh School Diploma or equivalent

oPrevious experience with SAP

oAbility to multitask and prioritize

oSelf-directed individual who can work independently

oEffective problem solver in a fast paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven work environment.

oProficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications

•Preferred:

oPrevious Master Data experience

oUnderstanding of specifics and inter-related details of SAP Material Master, Production Planning, Customer Master, and Pricing modules
