Responsibilities
Assess existing data landscape and recommend improvements in data collection, storage, and processing methodologiesDevelop and implement data pre-processing and cleaning techniques to ensure data quality and consistencyDesign, develop, and apply advanced statistical and machine learning models to derive insights and support data-driven decision-makingVisualize and communicate complex data analyses, trends, and patterns to department stakeholders through interactive dashboards and reportsCollaborate with SME's to identify and prioritize data analysis projects based on department objectives and available resourcesEnsure compliance with federal government data privacy and security requirements, including FISMA and GDPR, when working with sensitive datasetsContinuously monitor and evaluate the performance of data models, recommending and implementing enhancements as neededStay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science and apply these learnings to improve processes and outcomes
Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least 7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on federal government environmentsProficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, or TensorFlow)Expertise in statistical and Machine Learning techniques, including regression, clustering, and classification algorithmsStrong data visualization skills, including experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.jsExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsCurrent active TS/SCI w/CI polygraph.
