The Associate Scientist participates in cellular assay development, validation, and execution including sample analysis in a timely manner. Performs assays according to SOPs and supports development of new procedures and improvement of existing SOPs in CLIA/CAP/ISO accredited Clinical ImmunologyEssential functions of the job include but are not limited to:Perform Neutralizing Antibody Assay primarily, as well as other immunocellular assaysDesign and perform experiments, independently and accurately analyze and present dataHigh quality output is essential with the ability to build efficiency into improving productivity metricsAssist in establishing and improving all procedures and required SOP documentationResponsible for trouble shooting and correcting routine scientific issues/problemsIdentify, update and implement emerging laboratory techniquesMaintain and support safe lab practices and environmentWork collaboratively with other technical teams in resource sharing and providing technical expertiseSupport new equipment operational qualifications and performance checksMonitor Product and Service/R&D related project expensesAct as a scientific technology platform lead externally to clients and internallyAssists with writing, reviewing and editing contract and grant applications/proposals as appropriate.Write and prepare abstracts, techniques/or draft scientific papers to maintain the scientific standard and image of the companyMay present completed work at appropriate scientific meetings and in publicationsOther duties as assignedQualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years relevant lab experience; orMaster’s Degree with 2 years relevant lab experienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree with a concentration in Biology, Chemistry or Life SciencesOther Required:Expert level mammalian cell culture and plate-based cellular assay experienceExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills requiredMust have the ability to organize and analyze data, as well as, prepare reportsMust possess strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, and GraphPad PrismExcellent use of judgment and discretion requiredExtended work hours may be occasionally necessary in order to meet business demandsAbility to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.; Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. overhead with assistance; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity; May be exposed to a cold freezer environment (Freezer temperatures range between -20ºC -196ºC)Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English languagePreferred:A solid understanding of current GxP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standardsDemonstrated skills with assays used for immune monitoring such as Total Antibody Detection, Cell-based Neutralizing Antibody, Functional cytokine production assay such as ELISpot and ELISA
