Troy - T01Job SummaryThe Department of Economics, Finance, Risk Management and Insurance in the Sorrell College of Business at Troy University is seeking candidates with expertise in risk management and insurance for an open-rank, tenure-track position beginning Fall 2024.

Troy University is a public university in Troy, AL and is one of only 189 schools that are

accredited in both business and accounting. The department and college have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, student mentorship and engagement with the insurance industry.

The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position in Economics, Finance, Risk Management and Insurance is responsible for maintaining an active research agenda, teaching primarily in our undergraduate Risk Management and Insurance program, and contributing service to the Department and the College.

The primary teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level, and the typical teaching load is a 3/3 (9 credit hours each semester), with the option to teach summer courses for additional compensation subject to course and funding availability. Candidates must demonstrate the potential for high quality teaching.

ABDs will be considered if close to completion.If the candidate holds a Ph.D. in a related discipline to Risk Management and Insurance, they should be able to clearly demonstrate their knowledge of insurance and their qualifications to teach risk and insurance subject areas.Preferred Qualifications

Established record of quality teaching and research commensurate with rank. Significant on-going research agenda aimed at quality journals in insurance, risk management, and/or related fields (including finance and economics).Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance or a related discipline from an
