This position will oversee the daily operations of the General Chemistry department. 13112 Evening Creek Dr. San Diego CA 92128ResponsibilitiesSupervise the day-to-day operations of the Special Chemistry/Infectious Disease departmentEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the departmentMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in a continuous process and service level improvementsEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their developmentPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as neededJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirementsCA CLS Generalist or Clinical Chemist Scientist (CCS) license requiredMinimum 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a Clinical Lab Scientist or Medical Technologist requiredPrevious experience working as a CLS in the Chemistry department requiredPrevious supervisor experience is preferredStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability in making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionPay Range: $120,000- $138,000 (Annually)Benefits: All job offers will bebased on a candidates skills and prior relevant experience, applicabledegrees/certifications,as well as internal equity and market data.Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, Paid time off (PTO) or Flexible time off (FTO), Commissions, and Company bonus where applicable.
