Senior-level CEQA/NEPA Environmental Planner/Group Manager

ECORP is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, client-centered professional to lead our CEQA/NEPA practice in our Rocklin office. They will be responsible for managing and preparing CEQA and NEPA documents, conducting and overseeing impact analysis, report preparation, document review, business development, staff development and mentoring, and client care. As a valuable addition to our leadership team, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and grow our CEQA/NEPA practice in Rocklin and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team on diverse projects throughout northern California.

The level of responsibility and performance should be that of someone with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the consulting industry.

Responsibilities will include the following:

Collaborate with ECORP’s multidisciplinary staff of environmental planners, biologists, archaeologists, paleontologists, air quality/greenhouse gas specialists, and noise specialists to identify project requirements and develop solutions to meet federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Prepare and manage complex environmental documentation for a wide variety of local and regional projects and manage on-call environmental services contracts.

Build and expand long-term client relationships, actively identify and develop new business, and prepare effective proposals.

Work with the Director of CEQA/NEPA Services and Rocklin Operations Manager to provide leadership, training, and mentorship to Rocklin CEQA/NEPA Group members.

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science or a related field.

A minimum of 10 years of experience preparing high-quality CEQA documents with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing multidisciplinary projects. The most recent experience should show successful project management for northern California cities, counties infrastructure agencies, resource agencies, and/or private developers.

Demonstrated confidence in decision-making and knowledge and expertise in the CEQA process and California environmental and regulatory setting.

Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.

Experience with NEPA, CEQA-Plus compliance, Caltrans requirements, resource agency (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Regional Water Quality Control Board) permitting, AICP certification, and/or managing direct reports is a plus.

Our base full-time annual salary range is $91,000-$150,000. Starting salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications/permits, geographic location, internal equity and market conditions. A hybrid work schedule is available; however, work in the office, at project sites, and with clients will be necessary.
