Hoag offers dedicated OB Services.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The Clinical Nurse, Maternal Child Health role provides direct patient care by the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in maternal child departments.The Registered Nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely, and appropriate quality patient care.This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administration, specimen collection, meeting nutritional and emotional needs, and education and discharge needs of the patients assigned.Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs.Evaluate and adjust the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions.Maintains a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Level 1: Education Training & ExperienceClinical Nurse I's at Magnet-designated facilities only require a BSN or that a BSN program is started within one year of hire date and a BSN degree is attained within two years of the starting the BSN program.6 months of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.Level 2: Education Training & ExperienceBSN required.1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.Level 3: Education Training & ExperienceBSN required.National certification is required.3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.Level 4: Education Training & ExperienceMSN required.National Certification is required.4 years of experience in Labor and Delivery as an RN is required.License RequiredCalifornia Registered Nurse licensure is active and in good standing for all levelsCertifications RequiredBLS, NRP, ACLS, and Basic Fetal Monitoring are required.Advanced Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring required with more than one year of Labor and Delivery RN experience.Benefits Eligible for Full-Time statusAbout HoagHoag is a nonprofit, regional healthcare delivery system in Orange County, California.
