The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University, Irvine, CA, invites applications for a full-time faculty member as Professor of Anthropology (at appropriate rank) beginning January 2025. The individual should demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship in the discipline of anthropology or related field. The faculty member will teach courses that serve the department and possibly CUI's Enduring Questions and Ideas Curriculum (Q&I), as well as filling roles in advising, mentoring, assessment, program recruitment, and university service. CUI seeks an individual who values the Lutheran liberal arts tradition and who will promote the mission, purpose, and objectives of the university.. Rank and salary will be determined by credentials and experience.
Qualifications
:
A broad-based, doctoral degree (PhD preferred) in anthropology with experience in teaching and research is desired. MA/MS in anthropology is acceptable with proper professional experience.
Appointment:
The position is a full-time position in Anthropology that will require being on the Irvine Turtle Rock campus and comes with full rights as a full-time faculty member.
The
faculty
will be expected to teach
courses in CUI's Enduring Questions and Ideas Curriculum, as well as other courses in the department. They will be expected to participate in events related to the major and department, as well as other programs on campus, including convocations and requirements of full-time faculty with respect to service to the Institution, the Academy, as well as to the church and community.
