About This Job
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll contribute to driving forward our Ecommerce product and platform, and mentor engineers on the team along the way. You will have the opportunity to leverage your technical skills and experience to directly impact the quality and scalability of our products. With an Ecommerce platform of the Dutchie scale and high organizational importance, there are endless opportunities for technical ownership and advancement on this team. What You'll Do...
Design and build pragmatic, robust, and scalable technical solutions for the Ecommerce product and business goals.Guide the technical and product quality of not just your own architectural solutions, but the team’s solutionsDefine and shares proposals for standards and best practices across your engineering team and the organizationLead the planning and execution of complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for our customersReviews code to ensure technical implementations meet functional requirements and technical quality standardsProactively diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement optimizationsMentor and coach other engineersCollaborate with UX and PM partners on the definition and design of featuresCollaborate with the team to plan and estimate workPositively contribute to our culture and our processes
What You Bring...
Deep understanding of backend server languages including Ruby/Rails and Node.js, and general software best practicesExperience in front end best practices within React, knowing how to match designs to build beautiful UI/UX flowsExperience with relational and non-relational databases, and working in distributed systemsExperience designing and extending scalable data models and the data stores they depend onYou take pride in the code you write - it's clean, tested, organized, and pragmaticYou understand product-led technical approaches. You seek to understand the product goals of the platform and can lead the team on well fitted technical solutions.Self-starter - you're proactive and can start projects and tasks without constant directionQuick learner - you pick up new frameworks and technologies quicklyPragmatic in technical choices, you understand how to choose and work within a variety of technical toolsPositive and effective communication skills, both written and verbalYou want to work in a high quality agile environment - we move quickly and ship code oftenExperience with testing and monitoring frameworks10+ years related experience

You’ll Get…
We are targeting a starting salary of $190,000 based on the intended level for this role. There may be flexibility on individual compensation packages based candidate skill set, experience, qualifications and other position-related factors.
