We are scaling quickly and looking for passionate people to protect the next million families!About the RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the user interfaces and experiences that our customers interact with. You'll work closely with our designers to build beautiful user interfaces for our web app on all screen formats. We make the most of modern tools like React, ES6, SASS, and more. You will also be responsible for architecting and developing our core front-end infrastructure.Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for the technical direction and execution of a pod of engineersCollaborate with our designers to iterate and implement on design conceptsArchitect and build our client-side infrastructureWork with full stack/backend engineers to ship featuresWrite efficient, modular, and reusable front-end libraries and abstractionsFind and solve performance issuesParticipate in code reviewsCommunicate best practices to the teamMentor junior developersQualifications and Skills:5-8+ years of full time engineering experienceExpert in core competency areas of: Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, interfacing with RESTful APIs & manipulating the DOMComfortable with TypeScript, NPM, Yarn and design libraries like TailwindExperience leading projects working with groups of 4 engineers or moreExtensive experience with modern client-side JS libraries and tooling, such as but not limited to React and understanding the relationship to vanilla core competencies, when layered in with other frameworks (for example state management libraries external to React).Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and best practices for responsive web development, quality assurance processes, testing coverage libraries & techniques, etc.Familiarity with server-side technology, such as Node.js, Rails, Django, etc.Exposure to architectural patterns of large, production environment web appsExperience with client-side performance and optimizationDemonstrate design, UX sensibility, and attention to detailUnderstanding of web security, common attacks and defensesKnowledge of build systems configurations and setup, such as WebpackExperience architecting web analytics and A/B testing systemsNextJS, Redux, AI, Notion, Jira, Figma, Optimizely, Segment and SQL are all bonusesAble to come into our San Francisco office 1-2 days a week#LI-JA1#LI-HybridThe US national base salary range for this full-time position is $184,000 - $246,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
