Full-timeThe Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for telling the story of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and its property by encouraging engagement, patronage, and sharing our evolving mission to inspire a love of nature and its beauty through unforgettable outdoor experiences utilizing a variety of communication instruments such as social media, email marketing, website, print media, public relations, and paid advertising. By doing so, this role will share the beauty of the Garden and enforce and strengthen the brand. An ideal candidate will be curious and have a love of nature with the desire to learn and share the history, events, ecology, and beauty of the Garden property. In this role, the Marketing & Communications Manager will own and manage the day-to-day functions and operations of marketing and communication. A motivated, organized, independent worker willing to learn and grow is best suited for this position.Responsibilities:Understands the importance of each guest to the Garden and drives excellence to ensure an optimal experience.Initiates, researches, develops, and implements marketing programs and efforts to include direct mail, social media marketing, advertisements, print media, public relations, and other marketing initiatives and tools.Serves as the gatekeeper of the brand, ensuring consistent and appropriate use, remaining consistent with business goals and objectives.Ensures all products, services, and other offerings conform to brand identity; and conducts ongoing brand inventory and management.Establishes, manages, and executes an annual strategic marketing & communications plan & calendar.Collaborates and meets with functional teams as needed to learn and understand all individual and departmental communication and marketing needs.Oversees and manages the development and maintenance of all online communication vehicles including social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others), promoting initiatives, events, and other relevant and timely material.Develops, manages, and produces materials in various formats, creating a cohesive image and message for all marketing and communication efforts.Serves as the primary on managing, maintaining, and editing the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden newsletter & website.Creates, maintains, and catalogs photo, video, graphic, and written content for Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.Serves as an in-house graphic designer, helping to create flyers, banners, posters, signage, advertisements, and other materials as needed.Reviews and analyzes potential new products/media to enhance the marketing/communications work.Monitors, evaluates, and reports on similar industry activities, the effectiveness of various marketing metrics (ex. social media engagement, email engagement, website analytics), and making recommendations on findings and opportunities.Establishes and maintains vendor and promotional relationships for marketing and event materials.Exemplifies the Garden Mission Statement and supports staff, departments, and leadership in pursuing and achieving goals.Performs other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our values.Requirements:Exhibits a passion for the mission of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.Successfully pass a standard background review.Able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays as/if needed.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse audience.Ability to work in a team yet also independently.Must be willing to serve all guests equally regardless of their race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, marital status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation.Experience & Education:Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Excellent written, verbal, social listening, and interpersonal communication skills.Experience in multichannel social media content best practices.Intermediate level or higher photo and video editing skills.Intermediate level or higher graphic design skills (ex. proficient in Canva).
