Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center (Yorktown Heights, NY) as part of Westchester County Parks, Recreation and Conservation seeks a dynamic, creative, and collaborative Assistant Farm Director to join our team. We seek an individual with strong interpersonal and technical skills with a background in organizational operations.Hilltop Hanover Farm & Environmental Center

is dedicated to the practices of sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, community education, and the creation of access to healthy food systems. Hilltop is a 60-acre working farm and educational center operated by Westchester County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation that uses organic practices to grow produce, flowers, and seeds for a market-style CSA, on-site farm stand, and native plant nursery. We have 10 acres of active cultivation. The farm offers educational programming throughout the year and the property is open to the public free of charge year round. A minimum of 10% of the produce grown is donated to those in need. This is a highly public-facing, interactive position.Responsibilities/Duties

Serves as point person for full farm management, operations, and day-to-day workflowTakes a lead in planning, marketing, development, data management, and recordkeepingServes as office manager and assistant to Farm DirectorManages, updates, and develops the Hilltop Hanover Farm websiteWorks closely and collaboratively with the Friends of Hilltop Hanover FarmUses a wide range of applications including Salesforce, Google Workspace, Google Business, Firespring, and moreAssists in annual budget preparation, management, purchasing, and other financial dutiesAssists with tracking and implementing sustainability improvements throughout the facilitySupports event planning, set up, and managementCreates an inclusive and welcoming team environmentParticipates in regular staff meetings as needed and by requestCollaborates and coordinates effectively with other staff membersParticipates in farm operations and livestock care as neededQualifications/Requirements

Either: (a) a Bachelor’s Degree* and two years of experience where the primary function of the position was in operations or production management, or in the implementation of agricultural, horticultural, or environmental programming, or (b) a Bachelor’s Degree* in agriculture, environmental science, horticulture, plant sciences, ecological restoration, engineering, or a related field and one year of experience as described in (a).Additional Information
