Position Title: Forklift Operator
Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
Position Description and Purpose : Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Roskam Foods is a leading contract manufacturer that partners with world-renowned food brands, retailers, and food service providers to produce a myriad of frozen, refrigerated and shelf-stable products. Key Responsibilities:
The
Hilo Operator
is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient storage and shipping of customer product. In this role, you will use attention to detail to operate material handling equipment and scanning software in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.Performs all work task safely, accurately, and efficientlyAbility to meet standard pallet move performance rateInspects equipment prior to useMoves product to and from storage locationsLoads outbound orders while verifying accuracyInspects trailers prior to loading, ensures trailers are safe and food gradeResponsible for securing loaded trailer while waiting for pickupUtilizes scanning software to systematically move product in real-timePerforms warehouse cleaning duties including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, floor scrubbing, etc.Occasionally charges or changes Hilo battery, participates in inventory counting and wraps or stacks productPerform other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.Required and Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferredPrevious warehouse or forklift experienceAbility to stand for long periods of timeMay work overtime, evenings, or weekends to complete work or to attend meetings, as directed and authorized by managementPrevious stand-up Hilo experience highly preferredPrevious experience working in a cold storage environment preferred
