The Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty member conducting research in host-microbe dynamics. Candidates should have an MD, MD/Ph.D., or Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, documented evidence of high-quality research, and a strong commitment to education and research at a major university. Preference will be given to individuals with research programs focused on the interface between bacteria and the immune system.Current strengths of the Department include innate and adaptive immunity, mucosal pathogens, biofilms, autoimmunity, intracellular parasitism, and vaccines. The Department offers outstanding facilities, support, and a collaborative research community.The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and medical student education. Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up package.Minimum Education Required:Doctorate (Academic)Required Qualifications:PhD, or MD/PhD required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
