Honolulu, HawaiiPosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified Project Manager (PM) to join our Project Management team. The Project Manager will report to the Vice President of Programs and is responsible for the management and execution of commercial and military ship repair contracts ranging from $1M and up to $100M in value. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with full responsibility for the successful outcome of his/her project.The PM must be an excellent communicator and leader to establish and maintain working relationships with different stakeholders, including owners, managers, estimators, engineers, subcontractors, supervisors, and production workers. The PM must have experience and knowledge of government contracts, estimating methods, project scheduling, and be comfortable negotiating contract changes with the customer. Additionally, the PM should have experience onboard ships as well as experience with traditional marine engineering and shipboard equipment. The PM will need to read and understand complex work specifications, diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, test procedures, and NAVSEA Standard Items.The Project Manager must be knowledgeable of Project Management principles such as scheduling and work sequencing, risk management, performance management, and change management. The PM must be effective in scheduling and coordinating multiple resources such as labor, equipment, material, and subcontract support.The PM must be capable of conducting daily and weekly meetings with all stakeholders ranging from executive management to customers. These meetings may include production meetings, weekly progress meetings, conferences, and formal reviews.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe focal point for customer interaction to manage ship repair contracts while ensuring schedule and cost are metCoordinates changes to contract to ensure timely implementation and completionInterfaces with vessels stakeholders on day-to-day mattersEducation/Training/Skills:Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field or equivalent work experienceMinimum requirement of 10 years of ship repair or marine industry experienceMinimum requirement of 5 years of project management experienceKnowledge of managing federal contractsKnowledge of shipboard tag-out procedures and government Work Authorization (WAF) controlsPrevious experience or training in work sequencing and schedulingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project or similar scheduling softwareQualification/Requirements:Must show proof of legal right to work in the United States and US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base accessMust be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)Must be able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sitesAll candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins.Valid State of Hawaii drivers license in good standing, class 3 or higherCandidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shiftMust be flexible in work hoursPacific Shipyards International, LLC Expectations of Employee:Is committed to the company values and adheres to all policies and proceduresPerforms duties of his/her job as assignedMaintains a positive and respectful attitude and conduct her/himself with integrity and in a polite, professional manner treating customers and co-workers courteously and respectfullyCommunicates regularly with Officers, Managers and Supervisors about the different divisions and departments issuesConsistently be on time for work, meetings and appointments and deliver work projects by assigned due datesMaintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashionMaintain and ensure the safety of all assigned equipmentPerform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standardsMeet productivity goals and quality standards as set by managementAdditional Information:
