Must be able to use standard measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators etc. Perform visual and dimensional inspections for final and first article inspections on aviation parts from details to top assemblies. Must be able to understand visual and cosmetic standards. Must have the ability to clearly write nonconformance reports and assist in corrective actions investigations.SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsInterpret engineering data such as drawings and specificationsCompetent in using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicatorsPerform visual and dimensional inspectionPerform in-process, final, and first article inspections, including writing FAI documentation (bubble drawings, Forms1, 2 and 3)Perform inspections to visual and cosmetic standardsAble to write inspection reports and nonconformance reportsAble to understand root cause and participate in corrective actionsPerform review of supplier certifications for conformance to requirementsData collection for statistical analysisMust understand and be able to interpret tolerancesUnderstand application and use of all types of precision measuring instruments used in mechanical inspection, including interpretations of geometrical and positional tolerance requirementsTravel as required to support suppliers or source/auditing inspection programGENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and ExperienceEducation:A High School Diploma is required.A two-year college (Associate Degree), Trade/Technical School or certification is desired.Experience:Position may be filled with both entry level and experienced candidates.Skills:Microsoft office applicationsBasic mathPreferred Skills/Experience:Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specificationsOther:Must be authorized to work in the United States.Extended or irregular hours may be required.CERTIFICATES AND LICENSESUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITIONDirection with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and craftsmanship and measured based upon how well tasks have been completed.
